Thieves sabotage church’s plumbing system

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Tacoma police said thieves stole copper pipes from a church. KIRO-TV reported that members of Grace Missionary Baptist Church were preparing for a mens’ breakfast Friday night when they noticed the toilets weren’t flushing. There was also no water from the faucets.
Parishioner Dan Gardner said they could hear water somewhere. But when he looked under the church’s crawl space, he discovered that all the copper pipes had been taken.
Church members scrambled to get water for breakfast and portable toilets.
Why would thieves target copper pipes? Because copper has been trading lately above $3.50 per pound.

This happened to one of the larger black churches in Lexington, but it wasn’t the plumbing they stole, it was copper pipe in the air conditioning system. Theft of copper has apparently become an epidemic everywhere.

With oil, copper, and commodities skyrocketing, how come we just got an inflation report that was flat? I think our dollar is tanking.
