Get ready for ‘Your preacher’s crazier than my preacher’
flockwoodFor months, Rev. Jeremiah Wright has been a millstone around the neck of Democratic presidential frontrunner Barack Obama. But Republican presumptive nominee John McCain has his own preacher problems. On the campaign trail, he’s warmly embraced John Hagee of San Antonio. Hagee? He’s a minister who says God sent Hitler to “hunt” Jews so that they’d return to the Holy Land. Click here for audio. Hagee also said that God sent Hurricane Katrina to punish people, a claim he later disavowed.
Now comes word that another McCain supporter may have made inflammatory comments.
Click here for ABC News’ report on John McCain ally Rod Parsley of Columbus, Ohio. Parsley, who appeared on stage with McCain shortly before the Ohio Republican primary, has sharply condemned Islam.
If Republicans try to link Obama and Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright, Democrats will link McCain to John ‘God sent Hitler to hunt Jews’ Hagee and Rod ‘God Hates Islam’ Parsley. There may also be clips of McCain with Jerry ‘Lesbians caused Sep. 11′ Falwell and Pat ‘Let’s kill Hugo Chavez’ Robertson… Maybe they’ll even toss in archival footage of top Republicans making pilgrimages to Bob Jones University in South Carolina.
I said this in the fall about Mike Huckabee, but it applies to all of these presidential candidates. It’s risky business cozying up to self-annointed prophets who claim to have a direct line to God.
A politician is playing Russian roulette if he embraces a religious leader without doing a thorough background check on the reverend, rabbi or imam.

In the first place, John Hagee was never John McCain’s pastor. Second of all, I do believe while Hitler was indeed extreme, had he not of done what he did, would Israel of become a nation in 1948? God can and has used evil men and women in order to fulfill his divine purpose, including Hitler.

Really? Think it’s possible, then, that some day in some country the 9/11 terrorists will be remembered in the same way, as God’s little instruments?

God could have stopped 9-11, but he didn’t, yes, God uses evil men and evil forces for his ultimate plan, I personally don’t believe the devil can do anything without God’s permission.

Man has free will, God gave us the rules, from the beginning he has watch us screw it up.

According to the Book of Job, though, Mike, old Satan sure goaded God into one big bet one time and Job was the one who had to do all the paying-off.

The thing about the book of Job, Satan still had to have God’s permission, and then he only got to go as far as God allowed him. In all honesty, I don’t understand the full spectrum, if I did, I don’t think my little brain could handle it. I don’t understand it all, but by God’s grace, I can accept it.

Here’s a question for you then: if Satan wasn’t permitted to kill Job, and he wasn’t, if there is no respect of persons with God why then did he allow Satan to kill Job’s ten children, and does that mean that Satan has God’s permission to control the natural and human disasters and what not that killed them?

From what I understand in the spiritual realm, Satan petitions God, he has power, but everything he petitions for, must meet God’s approval. Satan would like to kill everybody, but God will not allow it, even though he does allow some destruction here. God is omni-present, Satan isn’t, Satan is powerful, but not all powerful as God. God is all-knowing, Satan isn’t. My personal belief, which mind you John, is only mine, and I could be wrong, but my belief is this, whatever happens, free-will of man, Satan petioning God, it’s all for a greater purpose we weak mortals as myself can’t always grasp, God can stop Satan, but Satan cannot stop God, God can take souls from Satan’s kingdom through Christ, Satan cannot take God’s property to Hell, if I didn’t believe in this, I couldn’t fathom why young people die, or why good people suffer.

The book of Job contains within its chapters much valuable information about life and the universe.
According to chapters 1 and 2 Satan was traveling back and forth to heaven so much that the other angels paid him no attention whatsoever. We are not given reason why he was allowed access to heaven, however in Revelation 12:7-8 the war ended his travels. Under the New Covenant, with the victory of the cross, Satan no longer has access to Heaven.
Job in 1:5 offers burnt offerings on behalf of his children, an indication that his children are not as faithful to God as Job is. Although it has never been said to be a sin to do, this was all in vain, for each person must repent of his own accord. God instructs Jobs friends to do their own sacrificing and then have Job pray for them (42:8). This is a fore picture or shadowing of Jesus. Each person must repent of their own accord, and then Jesus, who is our mediator, will stand on our behalf before God, and God will hear him.
God in his infinite wisdom used Job as a means to instruct all humans and Satan as well. God knows the future, Satan does not. God knew Jobs reaction before He questioned Satan about his servant. The message to all is that ‘just and righteous’ people go through trials and tribulation as a means to cleanse and purify us before we can enter the kingdom of God. It is also a declaration from our mouths and hearts to Satan and his minions that we, ourselves, acknowledge God as our father, and Jesus as our Savior.
