Elizabeth Dole: ‘Godless’ Americans support my opponent

Ouch! Elizabeth Dole is accusing her opponent, Kay Hagan of conspiring with ‘Godless Americans’ and using “Godless money’ to win Dole’s seat in the U.S. Senate.

Apparently someone from a group called Godless Americans did donate money to the campaign of Hagan — a Presbyterian and an elder in her North Carolina church. The Dole ad ends with an anonymous woman’s voice calling out: “There is no God.”

My guess: the polls must be tightening in the Tar Heel state.

    I guess that some people in North Carolina think it’s disreputable to treat honest law-abiding atheists as though they were real Americans who deserved a voice in choosing our government leaders. How sad.
