flockwoodThe Standing Committee of the Diocese of North Dakota has voted to withhold consent to the election of the Rev. Kevin G. Thew Forrester as bishop-elect of Northern Michigan, a standing committee member confirms.
Meanwhile, the Diocese of Alaska voted early this week to give consent, according to Standing Committee President Dawn Allen-Herron.
The current tally:
YES to the bishop-elect: 27
NO to the bishop-elect: 54
PENDING in the U.S.: 15
PENDING internationally: 8
NO COMMENT: 7
Eighty-one votes have been revealed and 30 are still unknown. In order to win, if I’m figuring the math right, the Rev. Thew Forrester must receive 29 of the 30 remaining votes.
