Conservative Judaism in decline?

The number of families affiliating with conservative synagogues has plummeted over the past decade, according to the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.

The Forward has the details. The drop is especially pronounced in the Northeast region — a stunning 30 percent drop.

    This has been going on for some time. The conservative synagogues are in trouble because in many senses, they are betwixt and between, neither Orthodox nor Reform, in a kind of compromise that ultimately doesn’t much satisfy anyone.
