Bible Study 1, Big Brother 0
flockwoodIt’s hard to believe this could happen in America, but it did. A pastor who was holding a small Bible study in his San Diego home, got a cease-and-desist letter from local government officials ordering him to stop sharing the Scriptures at his residence.
The pastor also was grilled about his religious practices, according to media reports. No enhanced interrogation techniques were used.
But the tide apparently turned when the pastor got himself a lawyer.

i too was appalled by this story and at such a bold attempt by San Diego to attempt to put a muzzle on religious freedom and that this has happened in our day and age when so much of our lives have gone public! remember BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING—and Uncle Sam is everywhere–watching us, listening to us and even recording so much of our lives while we live our lives either ignoring it or unaware of it! it is a good thing that the media began to focus attention on all of this! it is a hope that perhaps the joneses will feel a civic need to pursue this flagrant violation in the California courts, even if a precedent is not set by this out rage, still it is an out rage to the public! even though the city of San Diego has backed down on this warrant, nonetheless for the short time the joneses were on the legal HOT SEAT it is easy to see that they might have been terribly frightened and perhaps they even feared for their lives at some point! perhaps those long hours that they were under the LEGAL MICROSCOPE felt like it was going to be an eternity before they were ever free of the legal inspection again! it seems as though their legal and civil rights were violated, and perhaps pain and suffering too! perhaps they should seek legal redress, civil redress and whatever other redresses they might be found entitled to!
now as far as “our founding fathers rolling over in their graves” over citizens not having the freedoms to exercise their religion—oh please give it a rest! don’t you think this statement is over the top and rather ironic coming from whites? (i assume they are white as most people in this country are white. i am mixed.) yes, it is true that our white ancestors came over here to this country WHICH WAS ALREADY OCCUPIED! yes, our white ancestors came here to escape religious oppression AND THEN many years later our white ancestors turned around and prevented the first inhabitants of this country, the Native-Americans, from being who they were! our white ancestors took their children away from them AND GAVE THEM TO WHITES! these children were cut off from their families and all that they knew: separated from families; cut off braids; took traditional apparel, forbid to speak native language; prevented from traditional religion (made a crime to live Native-American religion; and put in white schools! yes we whites cry religious freedom and when we whites cry religious freedom then suddenly it is not okay to prevent someone from living their religion! well yippy skippy goody-goody for us whites!
did you know that today the US Gvt is holding a Lakota man prisoner, his name is Leonard Peltier, on two consecutive life sentences for shooting two FBI agents back in 1975 on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota? did you also know that it was proven that Leonard did not shoot either one of the two FBI agents and yet he is still in prison today for this crime he did not commit? did you know that the two men who shot the two FBI agents are free today? they got off on plea bargains!
and so yes the joneses religious freedoms were violated by the city of San Diego California and again now that whites’ religious freedoms are being threatened then whites want some legal redress…but what about those who are already suffering for religious freedom in our country? who is going to speak out for them? when are they going to be entitled to civil and legal redress? this story though shocking and appalling to read, IT IS NOT NEW!
