An interesting take on the Warren-Obama prayer blowup

Blogger/advocate/theologian Jerry Eckert has written an interesting post about the controversy surrounding Rick Warren’s upcoming prayer during the Obama inauguration.

It’s an interesting take on the brouhaha and I enjoyed it. I’d also like to thank Mr. Eckert for placing my on his blog list.

  1. Dennis Stutsman Says:

It is impossible to find any religious figure who is not controversial in some way. If Obama follows through on his campaign promises about equal rights in the many other areas separate from marriage, and having Rick Warren in a prominent place in the inauguration helps bring along evangelical supporters on environmental issues and reducing poverty, then we will have made great progress indeed. There will always be still more work to be done. I don’t think that John McCain would have invited Mel White to give the invocation.
